FAQs
What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit bracelet, anklet, or necklace that is welded together while you're wearing it, creating a seamless piece without a clasp. The weld is quick, painless, and designed for comfortable everyday wear.
Does getting permanent jewelry hurt?
Not at all. The welding process never touches your skin. A protective barrier is placed between your skin and the jewelry during the quick welding process.
How long does permanent jewelry last?
With proper care, permanent jewelry can last for years. Longevity depends on the metal chosen, your lifestyle, and how the jewelry is cared for.
What is the best metal for permanent jewelry?
Both 14K Gold Filled and 925 Sterling Silver are excellent choices.
Choose 14K Gold Filled if you want:
- Maximum durability
- A rich gold appearance
- Excellent tarnish resistance
Choose 925 Sterling Silver if you want:
- A bright silver finish
- A timeless precious metal
- A more affordable option
What is the difference between Gold Filled and Gold Plated?
14K Gold Filled
Gold-filled jewelry contains a thick layer of real 14K gold permanently bonded to a base metal. It is highly durable, tarnish-resistant, and can last for many years with proper care.
Gold Plated
Gold-plated jewelry has a very thin layer of gold applied over a base metal. Over time, the plating can wear away, exposing the metal underneath.
Gold-filled jewelry contains significantly more real gold and generally lasts much longer than gold-plated jewelry.
What is 925 Sterling Silver?
925 Sterling Silver is made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals for strength and durability. It is a precious metal that can last for many years when properly cared for.
Can I add charms or birthstones?
Yes! We offer a variety of charms, birthstones, and connectors so you can create a piece that is uniquely yours.
Can I stack multiple pieces?
Absolutely. Many clients love layering multiple bracelets, anklets, or necklaces for a personalized look.
Can I shower, swim, and exercise with permanent jewelry?
Yes. Our 14K Gold Filled and 925 Sterling Silver chains are designed for everyday wear, including showering, swimming, and exercising. However, frequent exposure to chlorine, harsh chemicals, and salt water may affect the appearance of the jewelry over time.
What happens if I need to remove my permanent jewelry?
If you need to remove your jewelry, simply cut the jump ring (the small welded ring) using nail clippers or jewelry cutters. Save your chain and bring it back to us for a reweld appointment.
Can permanent jewelry be put back on?
Yes! As long as the chain is not damaged or lost, we can usually reweld it for you.
What if my jewelry breaks or falls off?
Save the chain and contact us as soon as possible. If the chain is intact, we can usually reweld it. If the chain is damaged or a section is missing, a replacement chain may be required.
Can I travel with permanent jewelry?
Absolutely. Permanent jewelry is airport and travel friendly. Most clients pass through security without any issues. If you're undergoing medical imaging such as an MRI, you may be asked to remove your jewelry beforehand.
What about MRI scans and medical procedures?
Some medical facilities require all jewelry to be removed before MRI scans or certain procedures. If necessary, simply cut the jump ring and save your chain so it can be rewelded later.
Can children get permanent jewelry?
Children may receive permanent jewelry with parental consent. We recommend discussing lifestyle and activity levels before choosing a chain style.
